Gray Gray and Lily Dot

by CountryThreads on June 12, 2017

These two little sweethearts moved to Garner this morning.  Connie always names her tabbies Gray Gray and Claire named the second kitten Lily.  So now It will be Lily (Dot) unless I slip up.  Claire is coming to the lake this weekend and Gray Gray and Lily will be waiting to meet her.

Telly was semi-interested, Rox wasn’t interested at all and Hazel was beyond interested so she had to be in the kennel.

We finally got a bit of rain last night – only 2/10ths but my little garden looked pretty good.

It’s too hot to work in the garden – maybe I’ll have to get up at 5 am and weed it.  Eek!

This might be a sewing day so I can stay in the AC.

So glad some of the babies have been given a good home! I hope you accomplish more than me in this heat we are having. I guess it’s time to just relax in the good ole summertime moment for another day before a brief cool down. I can only do mindless sewing when it’s hot so strip piecing is it for me.

Glad you found homes for the kittens.. I have been thinking about adopting another cat… but I have decided it is just not the right time… I have 4 ( who are quite old)and I know they would NOT be happy with a new-comer. So I will wait till the time is right.
Hot here today… I did some watering and hoed a few weeds… have to put some cages on my tomato plants. and hope the storms coming tomorrow don’t whip them too bad.
Have a good day !!! …….. I think I will sew !

Claudia – how about two newcomers? The kittens can stick together. I’ll even deliver them!

It’s hot in the desert southwest too. But we have NO humidity so it is quite pleasant in the shade.

I have the sweetest little stray has been coming up to the edge of the cotton field . I have been feeding her. She let me rub her belly and pick her up. She is such a tiny scrawny little thing. At least like to get her spayed , but two of my cats keep chasing her back into the cotton field . Makes me sad.

Paula – can you isolate her in a separate room just long enough to get her spayed? Or shut your cats up while you catch her?

Mulch, lots and lots of mulch should block out the weeds!!

Glad that Dot went off with a sibling, otherwise she might have barn withdrawal. LOL

Hazel being “beyond interested” made me laugh:) I can just see her trying to check out the carrier. Do you want to deliver the other white one to Ohio? Ha–it’s 11 hours and 19 minutes. Squeak is too mean anyway. She’d put her “arm” around poor old Spike and then bite him on the neck:( It is hot and dry in Central Ohio, too. Hoping for rain this week. AC is wonderful for sewing;)

Oh Mary, I am pleased your kitties are going to great homes to be loved, BUT I shall miss the pics and your comments terribly. Where is the Mother cat? Did she leave or is she viewing the adoptions? I agree it is quilting weather…mj Hudson Wi

Sounds like a lot of hot going around. It may break a record here in Pennsylvania and the east coast. I will miss the kitten pictures too. Especially the little black one. I hope one day to have another black kitty, hopefully a little like the last one. I do know they are all different just like people. Hope your little black one found a good home.

I had planned to have a morning garage sale Saturday, but the forecast high for that day is 106. Not sure a sale even starting at 7 a.m. worth be worth it. Location….SE corner of the Texas Panhandle. Best of luck on finding homes for the three musketeers.

Mary- Glad Claire named the kitty Lily. We have a cat named Dot. She has an orange Dot on her head.

Mary, I have been following your blog for quite some time and finally decided to tell you how much I enjoy it. I am living vicariously through you. I work full-time and the highlight of my day is when I see my “Country Threads” email folder highlight. I would love to be retired, quilting and working around our farm. We have several farm cats and just recently we lost the matriarch of the farm who left behind three kittens. I am bottle feeding before and after work and in the evening. I have not had time to do much quilting but had a grand-daughter (our first grandchild) in March and decided to make her a quilt. It is a baby animal quilt using cuddle fabric. I am just about done. Your photos of quilts is what inspires me!! I also have relatives in the Garner area – Bruce and Becky Jolivette. Let me know if you have heard of them. Have a great day and stay cool!!! I am going to see if my email has any surprises for me now – oh, I also do get some work done. 🙂

Jean – I do know Bruce and Becky! Becky was just at the shower at my sisters house 2 weeks ago, too. Remember when I had the little bedroom upstairs painted? Bruce did it. Glad you enjoy the blog even tho it seems pretty ordinary to me. Someday you, too, will get to retire – and you will love it!
