New Patterns for March and April

What can I say? Almost 300 comments as of 1:00 p.m. Sunday. I don’t have a number generator – I just assumed I’d count them and ask Reed to write down two numbers. Which is what I’ll do – please trust me to count correctly because I am surprised, no shocked, to see this many comments and I read every single one.

So let’s make something new for Easter, shall we?

Continue the story

How about Harvey, the Easter Bunny?

Little Harvey measures 11″ x 27″.

Big Harvey measures 21″ x 53″. He was made as a door banner years ago and we must have sold Big Harvey at our sale because I can’t find him – did anyone reading this purchase him at our sale? We love Little Harvey more than Big Harvey because he fits in odd places. He is all rotary cut except for his nose and his bow tie. Whiskers are embroidered.

Big Harvey and Little Harvey are $10.00 together.

Little Harvey ONLY – $5.00.

By ordering Harvey now in February you’ll have time to make him and get him hung by April 1 for your Easter decorating.

And now for March – a Night Star which measures 10″ x 12″.

And if you feel like making making more than one star block, add sashing and cornerstones for a larger project.

This baby is waiting to be quilted.

March Night Star pattern is $3.00.

On the post yesterday I didn’t notice the funnel picture did not post so here it is.

Connie’s pincushion called Spokes.

Renee’s version of Spokes. I love the fussy cut rose on top, don’t you?

And here’s one of those great pictures if you’re a dog lover.

Did I cover it all? Let me know if I missed something. Sunday afternoon, the ballgame is on and I think a nap is in order!

I am wondering why 300 people decided to post their thoughts on your blog yesterday? And yes, I do have to retype my name, email, etc. each time I leave you a reply.

I made big Harvey many moons ago and love getting him out each year. Country Threads quilts make up the majority of my decorating for every season! I definitely have to add little Harvey to my collection and the star pattern too. I don’t have much wall or table space left uncovered anymore so love these little projects!😂 It’s been a good winter to get caught up on the unfinished projects pile. Reading your blog really motivates me as I can be a bit of a procrastinator!!! Going to go get my envelope ready to send off to you!

I made big Harvey several years back and he comes out every spring to hang on the back of our front door.
I use Uncle Sam in the summer and your door hanger snowman in the winter. I have patterns, but still need to do a quilt for fall.

I love the fussy cut rose, now I’m inspired to go for it! Sometimes I think doing something like a pincushion takes too long for how tiny it is… but that’s kind of the point, maybe. Tiny means using scraps, they can be readily displayed, and they’re are just stinkin’ cute! Need the book!

I LOVE Little Harvey!! Easter is my favorite holiday for decorating!

300+ comments!! Wow!! Good to know you’ve got that many fans! You are indeed a very popular lady! Your blog is the highlight of my day. I’m always happy to see it in my inbox!

Connie and Renee’s pincushions are just gorgeous! I will be purchasing the book if I’m not one of the lucky winners of your extra copies. I will likely try Spokes first as a great challenge! Renee’s fussy cut top is a wonderful way to do that.

Only two ads to click today. One called Itty Bitty Toes had all these dresses for little tiny kids. They started at $175.00 and UP— like up to $350.00!! Wow. My kids got home sewn, hand me downs, or Sears and PenneyS~~lol!! Did anyone else see that one?

I cherish your door snowman made by my friend who died of ovarian cancer. It is so precious to me. I’ll be sending forvHarvey. Thanks.

Freezing rain and 28;and degrees right now.

    The pin cushions are great😃

Diane in Central Ohio – I cannot imagine spending $350 for a child’s dress – didn’t see that ad so I might look it up. Nice memory quilt, your snowman.

People are adjusting to the cold and snow. The Eskimos do it so why can’t we ? Plus the ranchers are calving. There was plenty of warning so they are prepared.
I have the patterns for big Harvey, snowmen, halloween characters but not a Small Harvey. Suppose I could make it smaller, but it is easier to have you send it to me. About 4 years or so, I made the Big Harvey, a Christmas big snowman and a winter snowman. The tops are done and everything is cut ready to layer and quilt but just never got that far. Maybe there is hope?
Does anybody else ever get done quilting? A neighbor here decides what pattern she is going to make, buys the fabric for it, makes AND finishes the quilt. I’m sure she must be sick!
    Happy Winter Everybody.

Betty Klosterman – I am laughing out loud! I agree – anybody who decides, then shops, makes the quilt and finishes without starting something else has got to be sick!!! Hahaha! What a great laugh I had over that remark!

And I wonder what Betty’s neighbor does with her leftover scraps? When I frequented a friend’s quilt shop one teacher used to put a basket for students to toss in any scraps or miscut pieces. You’d be surprised to see what was tossed into the basket and what the teacher brought for show and tell the next week’s class!

I’ve sewn n quilted Tall Harvey…have Tall Snowman hanging on inside door…Border fabric says, LET IT SNOW and it has quite a few times today! Night Star looks good, Mary so I’ll be sending a SASEnvelope with $ tomorrow. Cold wind here n single digits tonight!

Laura – about 6” of new snow here and I know the wind will come up trapping us wherever we are at that time.

She buys the amount of fabric needed to make the quilt and has almost nothing left. IF there were a few scraps depending on the sizes, she might give them to Project Warmth or to the people who make miniatures OR if too small for that, they will be used to stuff beds for the Animal Shelter. The cases for the beds are made out of whatever can’t be used for quilts. We just get the most out of the very last thread. Just a note, she is an expert quilter and her sewing is perfect.

Wow who would have guessed that there were so many readers of the blog that haven’t commented until you offer something for free.
I do have the big Harvey pattern but would really love to make a little Harvey! So I will be sending you mail again Mary.
Those pincushions are so pretty. I think I would start with one much simpler. Just call me chicken or lazy.
Getting ready to decorate with the St. Patrick’s quilts soon, the house is currently decked out in Red/white, red/tan.
A boy and his dog great picture.
My Christmas cactus are blooming again, almost nonstop since October
Enjoy the game and nap Mary I am going to sew binding, that is unless I should fall asleep. Clicked on a bunch of ads will check back later and click some more.

Oh, Mary, I have to have Little Harvey! I have some perfect juvenile prints with bunnies, etc. to surround him! Check is in the mail.
You are so popular that I think you should write a book with just your musings, animals, quilts, and all the nice people that you surround yourself with. And, the good that you do at your church.
I watched 48 Hours and I was just riveted about the people who were sequestered with the kidnapper. Your cousin, Lynne Westofer (sp?), was certainly a heroine along with the other lady. They certainly kept their cool. Every time I go to Trader Joe’s I will think of those ladies and the others involved in this horrific event.
Hope you are having a good day with the pups, cats, goats, geese, chickens and more! My amaryllis has six blooms so it makes these winter days much easier to take! My cat, Phoebe, warms me up, whenever she needs my lap!

I think I got one of your last kits for Harvey – maybe I should get him out & work on him. I think I need that book also with the pin cushions! Maybe I will start a collection of pincushions- not that I need another collection of anything! Haha

Love the small Harvey! I’ve got to get my check for that and your book in the mail! Ordering them together let’s me write just one check! I’m thinking about downsizing from our big house so little Harvey would be just perfect in a smaller place. Only problem is I don’t want to downsize my stash! Too many quilts I still want to make. So many quilts and so little time! I can’t sew fast enough!

OHG…I just wrote a nice long comment and then lost it when I clicked an ad before posting my comment. Try not to do that, ladies. Ads first, I guess. Or complete your comment.
Anyway…as I was saying, I must have been working on my Bulls Eye when Mary posted this one. I love Little Harvey and have the perfect place to hang him. I also want Night Star so I will be sending an envelope with $6.00 in it and my address label. Small quilts are just the ticket for me. I am more apt to finish them than the larger ones.
Brushing His Teeth With Kale made me laugh out loud. Kids and dogs. So precious.

Last nite when I posted late on the previous blog post, there were a lot of ads to click on. Today’s post only two ads for me and no, Diane in Ohio, I didn’t get the children’s dress ad. I would be choking if I saw kids dresses that much! So you are right Mary, it’s a crap shoot what each of us see for ads I guess.
I really like hanging door quilts on my front door so going to order these bunny ones for sure! Thanks for doing this for us.
